ps this is not a "catfish" tale..... 2 people begin with sharing music on blip.fm leading to their exchange of words by typing a simple message on twitter. learning more about each other sends us to this crazy world of facebook. recently, we both showed interest in watching the film, catfish, which lead us to unquestionable answers. "are you real?" was a question we both asked each other. myself concerned as i was duped by another in this world of words. the duper lead me to believe that he was my friend for 1.5 years, but could never meet. that is not a friendship. one begins to question reality. are the people we are chatting with really who they say they are? be careful because in your mind you believe they are real, but actually they can be the complete opposite.
anyhow, the photos i have taken were from the actual place where a friendship continues to build. how did this happen? simple.... music brought us together... first it was ryan adams and then arcade fire. it was arcade fire that we had a common interest for in seeing. i happened to have extra tickets to a show and he expressed being a huge fan. he drove to los angeles to pick up these tickets and officially meet me after chatting for a couple of months. we both were hesitant and nervous about meeting each other due to watching catfish. this film will change your mind set about chatting with people without ever actually exchanging a simple handshake to make it real. we are 2 people that have a love for music.... he being a drummer in a band, sound engineer and listening to some great music and myself a band photographer and music addict.
decision was made to meet at griffith observatory, a public place, that can make your breathe stop from the views.
we were both slightly shy, but as time went on our comfort level increased as we chatted. i must thank him for being extremely kind and making this experience enjoyable while being frightened at the same time. hehehehe so here it is... a big thank you for being an amazing you and being real! it was a pleasure to meet you and hear a voice behind the words!! (:
